Chocolate Cubed Cupcakes

We've been trying a lot of new recipes lately. In fact, I have a whole list of cakes and treats I want to work on in our test kitchen. There are twenty different cupcakes on that list alone - and that list seems to grow everyday (I blame all those amazing cupcake bloggers out there for over-inspiring me. Damn you and your shiny new recipes!).

But with all this hub-bub over Blue Pom-Poms and Maple Bacon monstrosities, I don't want to loose the flavours we started with - those original recipes that really gave us a proverbial baking-boner. So, I thought I'd take the time to spot light each cupcake that appears on our menu. We already took a look at our Rainbow Velvet (and even gave you our secret recipe, you lucky little buggers). This time, however, thing are about to get a bit more . . . sexy


Aw. Yeah.

Say hello to Chocolate Cubed. It wants to meet you. Take you out to a movie. And buy a property share in your tummy.

Now, maybe some of you are wondering why it's not . . . well, cubed. That sure would be neat, but the name is derived from a more mathematical standpoint. Cubed - meaning to the third power. Yes, that's right. We've got three rich types of chocolate stuffed into those things.

The cake is Chocolate Yogurt (my absolute favourite). Bittersweet Buttercream is piled high on top. Then, our third amigo - the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips - are scattered within the cake and throughout the icing. Botta bing, botta boom - you've got yourself a certified Chocolate Ménage à trois.

The recipe? Now, I'm not so sure if I want to part with it just yet. But, we'd love to make a big batch for you whenever you're in town. All you have to do is ask. You know where to find us.
