Halloween Cookies 2009

As I've mentioned before, Halloween is my favourite time of year. I was never really a Christmas girl - I'd much rather watch "The Blob" or "Night of the Living Dead" than "Frosty the Snowman" or "Miracle on 34st Street". Plus, Halloween gives us a chance to make cookies like these:

HalloweenCookies (4)

Mini Candy Corn Bites - Simple vanilla sugar cookies with candy corn baked right in. These things are about the size of a loonie, but so tasty and sweet. I added unsweetened chocolate to half to batch, just in case you're not a vanilla fan.

HalloweenCookies (3)

Pumpkin Spice Cookies - Our famous molasses-sweetened pumpkin spice cookies with lemony royal icing on top. Yes, we sat at the table and piped faces on five dozen of these things. At least they're happy about it.

HalloweenCookies (5)

Dulce De Leche Chocolate Sandwich Cookies - Our absolute favourite! Chocolate cookies spiked with sea salt with homemade dulce de leche sandwiched right in-between.

All these cookies are going to be boxed up tonight and sent out all over the Pacific Northwest. These Halloween Boxes have been our best thus far - Our Christmas Boxes are going to have a hard time outdoing these.
